Eats, Shoots and Leaves Author: Lynne Truss ISBN: 978-1592402038	Very entertaining, and right up my alley as a language snob; butI think a lot of the things she was complaining about are just evidence of natural development and growth of the language. Oh well, at least she taught me how to use semicolons.

Life at the Bottom : The Worldview That Makes the Underclass Author: Theodore Dalrymple ISBN: 978-1566635059	Frequently quoted by Truss. Very well-written, very scary look at inner-city England. Dalrymple has a massive vocabulary, and uses it to paint a very bleak picture, laying most of the blame at the feet of the leftists and liberals. Good read.

Memoirs of a Geisha Author: Arthur Golden ISBN: 978-0375400117	A beautiful novel, wonderfully researched and delicately told. Vibrant characters who are realistic and affecting. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Talk To The Hand Author: Lynne Truss ISBN: 978-1592401710	Read this before her other book, and like it better. I find herstyle a bit up and down, though, inconsistent. Possibly a lack of editing on the content (common problem in second books). Led me to another great book though, "Life at the Bottom".

The Weather Makers Author: Tim Flannery ISBN: 978-0002007511	A must read! For Everyone! Terrifying look at the impacts of carbon build-up and climate change. Can't recommend it highly enough.

The Worst Journey in the World Author: Apsley Cherry-Garrard ISBN: 978-0792266341	My all-time, #1 favourite book. No matter where I pick it up, within three sentences I'm hooked. Unimaginable hardship and sorrow, but a searing determination to push on. Guaranteed enjoyment.

This Is Your Brain On Music Author: Daniel Levitin ISBN: 978-0525949695	Really, all I can say is: Sheer Genius!
